What is U2F?

U2F stands for Universal Second Factor, a two-factor authentication (2FA) security standard for online services. To use a Universal Second Factor key, follow these steps -

3. Connect the key - Once you have registered your U2F key, insert it into your computer’s USB port or tap it on your mobile device’s NFC reader, if applicable.

5. Use the key - Once your U2F key is registered, you can use it for two-factor authentication (2FA) whenever you log in to the account. Simply enter your password as normal, and then touch or insert the U2F key to complete the authentication process. The U2F key will communicate with the online service to confirm that the user is in possession of the physical key
